 In Association With MEGADOG

The Megadog organisation has come a long way since its first Club Dog
events in London 10 years ago, based on its local following. Megadog
has, indeed, grown into one of the most successful, diverse and
respected dance phenomena of the last decade. Megadog events are
characterised by the creative, visual environment that they create as
well as for the multi textured blend of artists performing. They
recently celebrated a decade of success with a spectacular event at
London`s Brixton Academy and are staging their Megadog Dance Tent at The
Phonix Festival this summer, for the second successive year. Megadog...
the mutts nuts!

Bandulu

Their record company calls them "Inflammatory", "Innovative" and
"Responcable for some pretty smart tunes", what more can we say?
Bandulu have been creating buzz within the dance scene since their
inception in the early nineties. Jamie, Lucian and John grew up
together in North London, spending their time skateboarding, BMX riding
and exercising their talent for graffiti. They describe their
influences as Detroit Techno, Electro, Reggae, Soul and Funk and, as
ardent record collectors, they began making their own tunes, fusing
Detroit and Chicago influences with Hip Hop and Dub to create the unique
Bandulu sound.

Since then, the band have released some genuinely massive club cuts on
the infonet label, from Guidence and Presence, to this year`s storming
Crisis A Gwan and their critically acclaimed third LP Cornerstone,
released earlier this year. The trio have become widely known as one of
the best live acts on the dance circuit and as a result of this they
supported Underworld on some of their recent UK tour dates.

 Slab

Slab are the offspring of Drum Clubber Lol Hammond and Sabrettes boss
Nina Walsh. 1995 saw the release of a mighty trumvirate of Slab singles
on the Hydrogen Dukebox label. The bass heavy stomper Lidpopper, the
sparse and percussive Atomsmasher and the astounding Rampant Prankster.
Slab recently released their debut LP, Freeky Speed. This brought
together their work to date and included mixes by Carl Cox, Andrew
weatherhall, The Big Eye and Mokey Mafia. They are now creating waves
on the live circuit introducing thrashing guitars and in yer face vocal
refrains to their phat beat, dance floor grooving tracks. Slab
re-introduced the punk ethic that is missing from most of today`s dance
music.

 Spring Heel Jack

John Coxon and Ashley Wales formed Spring Heel Jack in 1994. Following
their recent production collaboration with Everything But The Girl on
the Walking Wounded single they have been shot into the limelight. The
key to their exclusive sound is in their variety, as demonstrated in
their debut album of last year, There Are Strings.

John`s roots lie back in live bands, and he`s best known for his work on
stage and in the studio with out-there rockers, Spiritualized. Ashley,
on the other hand, began as a low profile rave DJ. They have just
released their second album, 68 Shades, which, it has been said,
eloquently states the case for Hedonistic Hardstep.

 LTJ Bukem

LTJ Bukem has been credited as the man that has moulded the sound of
Drum & Bass in `96 and is cited by many leading Drum & Bass pioneers as
their means of inspiration. As the head of Good Looking/Good Looking
Records, he is responcable for some of the classic Drum & Bass tunes for
the ninties, such as Demon`s Theme and Music. He describes himself as
musically stubborn, he will play and create the music he loves no matter
what anyone else thinks, but he is, without a doubt, one of the most
instrumental characters in the world-wide Drum & Bass scene. It`s true
to say, Bukem`s passion for music and his distinctive style has
irreversibly changed the face of Drum & Bass forever.

 Kemistry & Storm

Kemistry & Storm have gone from being clubbers that looked up to their
idols, Grooverider and Fabio, to playing alongside their heroes at some
of the UK`s most prestigious Drum & Bass venues. Their residences, at
Metalheadz Sunday Session at the Blue Note and at Bukem`s Speed, are
semi-legendary. They admit to being influenced by everything from disco
to kraftwerk and they want Drum & Bass to completely take over the
world!

 Micheal Dog

Micheal Dog has been Megadog resident since the beginning of Club Dog
over 10 years ago. He started off with the Psychedelic Dub movement,
then progressed onto Ambient Dub, House and Techno and Psychedelic
Trance but he performs all linds of sets, from funky Techno to Ambient
chill out.

Micheal`s benchmark is quality and he doesn`t limit himself to playing
strictly new material; if a track from 3 years ago fits perfectly with a
tune from today, then Micheal will play it. It is his strong sense of
originality that has led him to playing world-wide guest spots, and this
year alone, he has played in Utrecht, Austria, Amsterdam and the USA.

 DJ Evolution

DJ Evolution is one of the biggest underground DJs in the UK at present.
He has been DJing for 11 years, starting off as an Electro and Hip Hop
and progressing as the Acid scene exploded in 1987. He is well known
for his high energy Acid Techno sets and his unpredictability, with
Evolution you can expect the unexpected! Evolution is redident at
Megadog and Club Alien and he regularly plays all over Europe. As well
as being a highly respected DJ, Evolution is also an established
producer. As well as the tracks he has released on Bag Records and
Totem, he also remixed Dreadzone`s Fight The Power.

Liberator DJs: Chris & Aaron Liberator

The Liberators have worked extensively on the underground party scene,
from the underground clubs and squat parties of yesteryear to the
International DJing of today. Some even say that the Liberators are one
of the reasons why they got into the London dance scene. They have
consistently been banging out the most stomping tunes over the last five
years and as well as DJing, Chris has released records on his own Stay
Up Forever label and on Choci`s Choons.

 MC Tea Bag

MC Tea Bag has performed at every Megadog event and is "The nutter that
embodies the spirit of Megadog". He is the original cane it MC of the
South London squat party scene and as well as being a nationally
recognised MC he also runs his own label, Bag Records.
